Advanced Combat Pistol Level III - C.L.E.E.T. Accredited

If you are a warrior who is legally authorized to carry a weapon and you step outside without that weapon, then you become a sheep, pretending that the bad man will not come today. No one can be “on” 24/7 for a lifetime. Everyone needs down time. But if you are authorized to carry a weapon, and you walk outside without it, just take a deep breath, and say, “BAA!” because you are a SHEEP.

Why do you need to learn how to defend yourself??? I love it when uneducated people say things like, “I don’t need to learn how to fight, I’ll just shoot em.” Do you have any idea how ridiculously stupid this makes them sound? Ideally we want to avoid the fight. How do we do that???? We do that through proper training. We learn what to look for. We learn how to profile. We educate ourselves on pre-attack indicators, predatorial behavior and we learn to avoid situations that put us in harms way. I’m often asked why I carry a gun with me everywhere I go. I have a myriad of replies to that question: 

  • It’s better to have it and NOT need it than to need it and NOT have it!
  • When seconds count, the cops are just MINUTES away!
  • My favorite: “I carry a gun on me because a cop is too heavy.” 

We can’t be expected to fight off a group of attackers without help. Sometimes the only thing that makes us equal to a determined attacker is our ability to deploy an equalizer. This “equalizer” is a pistol and it can be both an asset and a liability to you, especially if you’re untrained. You may never need to fire a single round but the perpetrator needs to think and believe that you are ready, willing and able to do that if necessary. We teach you to be confident in your abilities. We become confident through the development of skill. In this course you will learn skills that will keep you alive on the worst day of your life. 

Here’s what you will learn in this course:

  • Weapon Transitions.
  • Edged weapons (deployment, choice of, location of, etc.).
  • The use of a firearm in and during a physical altercation.
  • The treatment of wounds including self-preservation techniques.
  • The proper use of a tourniquet and how to apply to it.
  • Fighting for a position of dominance.
  • The when, how and why to deploy a gun into the equation.
  • How to talk to the police if you have been involved in a lethal force encounter.
  • The psychological and physiological effects of being in a fight for your life.
  • Learning how to profile, foresee potential hazardous situations and how formulate a plan of action.
  • What to do if your family is present.
  • Low light and NO light shooting techniques
  • Night fire!!!!
  • One handed weapon manipulation and malfunction clearance drills
  • Shooting from different positions including on your back and from cover.
  • Stress drills that push your speed and accuracy
  • Force on Force exercises
  • Team drills (shooting/moving and communicating)

Equipment needed:

  • Gun - semi-automatic
  • Gun belt – a rigid belt that will not allow the holster to sag.
  • Holster – inside the waistband, outside the waistband, either one is fine. No battle belts please. We’d like you to train in what you’re going to have on while in public. If you are an MP or the Po-leece we encourage you to train in your duty gear. 
  • 600-800 rounds of ammunition
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Comfortable clothing
  • Mouth piece if you desire
  • A chair to sit on at the range
  • Beverages of your choice if you desire something other than water (of course no alcohol is allowed on the premises)
  • Magazine pouch(es)
  • Edged weapon – folding knife if you carry one, fixed blade, etc.
  • Trainer for your blade if you have it. If not, don’t worry about it. 
  • Clear lenses for night fire
  • A handheld flashlight
  • A weapon mounted light is acceptable but you will still need a handheld flashlight for the night fire courses.
  • Range attire and grappling attire. You may roll in your street clothes but you are taking a chance on getting them ripped up. NO GI’s. 
  • Sunscreen and a hat are advisable.
  • Long sleeved shirt and long pants for force on force drills.

This is three full days of training, shooting, combatives and more. 

Come train with us, you’ll be glad you did. The more you sweat on the mat and on the range, the less you bleed in the streets!
