Tactics and Room Clearing for Law Enforcement - C.L.E.E.T. Accredited

This 2-day, 20 hour, C.L.E.E.T. ACCREDITED, course is taught by one of the best instructors on the planet, Mr. Billy Smith of the Dept. of Energy.  As a private contractor, Billy teaches this stuff to various teams year round and, therefore, has honed his skills as a CQB instructor and tactician.  The class consists of lecture, demonstration and practical application.  Although it is designed for Law Enforcement and First Responders, trained, qualified, civilian students are accepted from time to time.  Please call or email your resume to be considered. 

The following objectives and goals of the course are: 

  • Become familiar with the procedures and tactics involved with clearing buildings.
  • Understand the legal parameters involved in use of force situations.
  • Perform basic rules of room clearing.
  • Perform room entry techniques.
  • Demonstrate tactics for corner-fed and center fed room entries as an individual and as a team.
  • Demonstrate 1 man and team room entry techniques.
  • Demonstrate clearing of danger areas, room search, and suspect control as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate required after actions prior to leaving a room.
  • Demonstrate tactical fundamentals during team movement drills.
  • Become proficient in the 3 types of hallway intersections utilizing a rifle and/or pistol. 
  • Move as a member of a first responder team to negotiate and clear an “L” shaped hallway intersection.
  • Move as a member of a first responder team to negotiate and clear a “T” intersection.
  • Move as a member of a first responder team to negotiate and clear an “X” intersection. 
  • Identify procedures to properly clear and negotiate a stairwell (ascending and descending.)
Note: This C.L.E.E.T. Accredited course qualifies for 20 hours towards continuing education for Oklahoma Law Enforcement Officers.
